SYNOPSISAt the age of nineteen Nica Galas published her first book, the autobiographical tome Falling into the Sea which chronicled her short and torrid love affair among the hot beaches and lemon trees in the Gulf of Naples. The breathtaking story opens with Nica and her girlfriends picking bunches of jasmine flower for boys while they cliff-jumped into the sea. An innocent first kiss erupts into an ardent summer entanglement which is cut short one moonlit night when her lover leaps into the dark abyss never to surface, leaving Nica naked on the cliffs screaming his name.

I’m usually not a citrus person, but the lychee and tropical flowers soften the sharp top notes so beautifully it’s like wearing a warm, salty breeze. Sprayed it on a gloomy Tuesday and genuinely forgot it was overcast for hours. The warm sand note lingers just enough without being heavy.

Hazel ★★★★★

The lemon and grapefruit hit first, sharp and bright, then the warm sand note settles in like a memory of bare feet on a beach. I wore it on a miserable rainy Tuesday and actually felt the heat of summer on my skin for hours.

The lychee and tropical flowers hit first, then the warm sand note lingers like actual beach air on my skin. I spritzed it before a dreary Tuesday meeting and suddenly felt like I was on vacation. This is my new rainy-day ritual.
